How We Are Different

Very few people change their dentist after discovering Harley Street Dental and Implant Clinic, a place that’s got dentistry right for a very long time. It would be difficult to find a group of patients and a dental team that are more content, and testimony to this is how long everyone stays.

They generally stay for life.

Trust needs time to develop, and that’s one thing Harley Street Dental and Implant Clinic has had a lot of. It’s the oldest private practice in England and has been earning people’s trust since 1924. Apart from trust, good dentistry requires clinical skill which is evident in the practice’s history and its roster of specialist dentists. They are part of an unbroken tradition of innovative modern dentistry in the building which includes the pioneering use of dental hygienists, specialist periodontal care and dental implants, now key areas of mainstream dentistry.

Expect an atmosphere of quiet understatement on entering the listed building at 90 Harley Street, once home to Florence Nightingale, the founder of modern nursing. Expect a sympathetic chair-side manner in the dentist you see too. Harley Street Dental and Implant Clinic’s specialists also provide family dental care, and many of them lecture and write about their fields. The work they do includes rebuilding and replacing teeth, treating gum disease and root canal infections, fixing teeth misalignment and carrying out extractions. Patients are encouraged to see a hygienist at Harley Street Dental and Implant Clinic every quarter or six months to help them avoid the need for invasive treatments, but if serious dental work is needed, however complex, it is performed in the building as it always has been. For general dentistry such as crowns, bridges and veneers, the team has its own dental technician.

The team at Harley Street Dental and Implant Clinic understand that simply visiting the dentist can be difficult for nervous patients and even with the most sympathetic clinician, sometimes sedation is necessary for major procedures. An anaesthetist is available at the practice for intravenous sedation and provides oral and inhalation sedation so anxious patients can undergo treatments comfortably.

Trust has always been and remains the easiest solution to anxiety, and the tradition of making a personal relationship with each patient for lifelong treatment at Harley Street Dental and Implant Clinic is the secret of it’s longevity. Become part of the tradition and get in touch.
